David McKendree Key was a lawyer, Confederate officer, United States Senator, United States Postmaster General, and judge of Chattanooga, Tenn. The collection contains a volume titled containing envelopes with unusual and incorrect addresses; a volume containing handwritten versions of speeches by Key, apparently delivered in the Senate; and microfilm of political, military, and personal correspondence and of additional speeches by Key, originals of which are in the Chattanooga, Tenn., Public Library.
